The little train is an enjoyable way to get acquainted with Sanremo, accompanied by the most beautiful songs of the Sanremo Song Festival. The tour starts from the ex-railway station near the cycling track and lasts about 20 minutes.
Two tours are on offer:
1. Tour of the Town Centre
2. Tour of the two ports (“Big Yachts” in Porto Sole, “Fishing Boats” in the Old Port). Guided tours are available upon request.

The Film – an absolute novelty in Italy – will be presented at the Ariston Theatre to tourists, tourist groups and people visiting Sanremo. The aim of the film is to offer visitors a pleasant and stimulating vision of the town using 3D techniques. The most interesting, fun and lively aspects of Sanremo, which are often unknown to most people, will reveal the real essence of the town. Seeing Sanremo in 3D is a moving and fascinating experience. The 3D technique embraces and involves viewers who will be charmed by the town. An experience that must not be missed!

A calendar of natural tours is scheduled beginning from February. Tours will leave from the centre of Sanremo and will lead visitors to Rambaldi Picture Gallery of Coldirodi following the way that the Russian composer Tchaikovsky made to visit the Gallery in 1878.  
Tours will be held the first and second Saturday of the month from February to June leaving at 9:00 a.m. from San Rocco church. Climbing on foot along the old road to Coldirodi among houses, “fasce” (the typical terraces of Liguria) and olive groves, the tour will reach the scenic village where the parish church, the Sant’Anna Oratory and the Rambaldi Gallery housed in the new museum of Villa Luca can be visited.  Opportunity to have a meal at agreed price at Olimpo (0184.670015) and Gabry (0184.670038) restaurants of Coldirodi.

On the occasion of the Spring Festival, the Cooperative “STRADE-Liguria da Scoprire” will promote guided tours of two versatile buildings: the Casino and Villa Nobel. The guided tours of the Casino will be held every Saturday from 2nd January to 29th May starting at 9.30 a.m. in front of the Theatre door. The guided tours of Villa Nobel will start at 3.30 p.m. outside the Villa entrance . They will be held on 2nd January and then every second and fourth Saturday of January, February and March. The last tour is scheduled for 24th April. Each tour costs 3 Euros. Free entrance for children under 12 years of age. Reservation is not needed.

In July the XII edition of the National Festival of Dubbing “VOICES in the dark” will be held at Casinò Theatre of Sanremo. From this year, the Festival has taken the name of “VOCI a Sanremo” (VOICES in Sanremo). The Festival represents the most important Italian show dedicated to the world of film and television dubbing totally aware that Italian dubbing is the best in the world thanks to its quality and professionalism. For the occasion, a prize will be awarded to the best dubbings of Film and TV Season. Artistic direction by Claudio G. Fava

The Young Dancers International Award, organized into three sections – classic, modern, choreographic composition - by the Proballet Association of Master Algeri, got at its 5th edition in 2008. 

Max Gazzé will be the first leading artist this Summer to tread the stage in Piazza Colombo. He took part in this year’s Sanremo Song Festival with the song entitled “Il solito sesso” (The same sex). His new album was released on 29th February containing unreleased songs, among which “Tra l’aratro e la radio” (Between plough and radio) where he shares thoughts and opinions on changes following the passage from the agricultural to the industrial society.

The Festival will take place every Sunday and, like last year’s edition, will present high-quality soloists and various musical groups featuring the same theme: baroque music.

A National Minibasket Event organized by the Italian Basket Federation – Minibasket Section, aimed at young boys and girls aged twelve coming from all the Italian Regions.

Bluvertigo – the chemical rock band – will arrive in Sanremo on 13th July. The rock band is currently composed of Morgan, Andy, Livio Magnini and Sergio Carnevale and will propose its greatest successes.

The appointment with the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, in the lovely setting of the Villa Ormond park, is back. Every Thursday, this high-quality music festival will enrich the musical Summer of Sanremo.

The A**** National Horse Show. Riders of the highest standards from all over Italy are expected to participate. The total prize money will be € 36.000.

Francesco Tricarico, class 1971, graduated at the Music School of Milan and released his first single entitled “Io sono Francesco” (I am Francesco) in September 2000 – an authentic success. He took part in the 58th Sanremo Song Festival with the song “Vita Tranquilla” (Quiet Life), composing both music and lyrics, and then released his new album “Giglio” (Lily). His songs prove that he is an unconventional artist who is able to touch the deepest parts of the soul with rare sensitivity and to present visionary lyrics with imagination and a touch of irony.

 Red Music Festival represents a competition for young bands. The competing groups will perform during the three evenings and will be judged by a jury. Guests of the competition will be Cardiopalma, Fallen Angels and Dyssonance… Maurilio Giordana will host the show.

The throbbing heart of the central Pigna district will unleash a cascade of rock to welcome the month of August. Rock in the Casbah enters its nineth year focussing on ...

The Sanremo International Jazz Festival celebrated its 50th birthday. A birthday to remember. The oldest Italian Jazz Festival will be richer than ever in 2007.

The most important national event of Snipe class will take place in Sanremo, which has always had a big bent for this sailing discipline. The Championship will take place from 19th to 23rd August. The Title of Absolute Italian champion will be awarded on this date..... 

The 2008 edition will renew its tradition by welcoming the best youth Italian teams (such as Juventus, Inter, Genoa and Sampdoria) and new international players.

Festivalmare is the Gala presentation awarding prizes for different categories such as tourism, sport, culture and show business from the Liguria Region. There will be lots of live performances during this event.

The “Coppa Matuzia – Città di Sanremo” has been created by the Sanremo Yacth Club wanting to offer the “Challenger Trophy” as a prize once again. This event used to take place in the Sanremo bay in the fifties and was very popular. This Challenger was won by Albert Cadot on Giliat IV in 1951, by Andrè Firmenich in 1955 on Ylliam XI and by Beppe Croce, in 1957 on Manuela IV. It is coming back in 2007 aiming to become an annual event and an important international race for the 5.5 S.I.

The Sanremo Rally is a classic race. It’s the longest standing rally included in the Italian calendar. The best way to demonstrate its importance is its unique roll of honour. The first winner was Urdareanu, a Rumanian major, in 1928.

Is scheduled from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 September the 24th edition of the Sanremo International Volleyball Cup, 16th Memorial Dado Weaver, a traditional women's volleyball tournament involving some of the most important clubs in the world. The new Volleyball League in Sanremo has for the 2008 edition invited three Italian teams (Bergamo, Novara and Pavia), the French Cannes, the Russian St. Petersburg and the champions of China, Liaoning. The event will take place at the Volleyball Arena in the "Mercato dei Fiori" in Valle Armea, specially processed for those days in a genuine sport hall.

The traditional Band Festival is coming back. This year numerous city bands coming from Germany will be joining Italian bands from all over the country to perform.

The Derby has the same rules as an international competition. The only difference being after the hurdles the competitors leave the green track to tackle a path with natural hurdles (tree trunks, holes and uneven ground).

The show is thought up and carried out by the Sanremo Runners sports society with the main collaboration of IUTA (Italian Ultramarathon and Trail Association). The show belongs to the program of celebrations taking place on occasion of the hundredth anniversary of London Olympic marathon of 1908 run by the athlete Dorando PIETRI who was born near Carpi and then lived in Sanremo where he passed away.
 

Are you ready for the first round of the ten Grand Prix Nations Cup 2008. A shooting contest with its usual fantastic location and flawless organization.

As usual, many important Italian singer- songwriters will be participating, in this event. The Tenco Awards will be assigned. During the 3-day event there will be exhibitions, record and book previews and a convention about the “art song”.

For the second time, the Sanremo Municipality in collaboration with Kismet will be opening the Palafiori and the whole town to the world of games. Draughts, chess, table games, crossword puzzles, road games, traditional and electonic games, card playing and comics .. plus meetings and conventions to celebrate Sanremo, the “City of Games” .

World famous and National Team shooters from most European countries will take part in this event.

The Marathon by the Sea will take place on the next 7th December. It is the first marathon in the world running along the seaside within the Coastal Park of the Ligurian Ponente (Western Riviera). A completely flat route, which will also captivate the most disenchanted people.

The Grand Prix concerns all the billiard games played on international billiard competitions. This means … cue, cannon, and cue balls.

Over 600 athletes will participate in this international event.

Optimist is celebrating the 24th “Meeting del Mediterraneo”. A regatta dedicated to hundreds of young sailors coming from all over the world (December 29-30). A classical Christmas race, that last year was granted spring-like and windy weather conditions. 

A true New Year’s party worthy of Sanremo, must contains Fireworks. When midnight strikes, the Old Port will be illuminated by thousands of spectacular lights.
